DEC 10. DJ KU (CRITICAL BEATDOWN, TAMPA)
Critical Beatdown Artist Dj KU from Tampa Fl. is back for another session in the Hip Hop Room tonight!!
Demanded state wide and nationally, DJ KU is one of Florida's most highly recognized and sought after DJ's. With over ten years of solid DJ experience under his belt, he continues to be one of the southeast's most respected and influential DJ's in the nightclub scene. KU began his lifelong relationship with music as a diehard hip hop junkie, but through the years, his ear quickly became attracted to and exposed to the likes of funk, soul, house, electro, and more. And today, with an unquestioned love for all kinds of music, his catalogue spans the test of time and has proved itself time and time again to entertain any crowd.
KU has traveled the country, as well as parts of the world to bring his signature sound to audiences of all kind. Past cities include the likes of Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Boston, Austin, and many more. Through the years he has been fortunate enough to work with such nationally acclaimed acts like the late DJ AM, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Scene, DJ Vice, Tony Touch, Lil Jon, Diplo, and more. Noteworthy celebrities he has had the honor to provide soundtracks for include Kendra Wilkinson, Kim Kardashian, Bill Bellamy, Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, and more.
Throughout the years, his efforts have not gone unrecognized. His critically acclaimed mixtape, "Ill Commuzikation," has moved over 5000 units in Florida alone and has been downloaded over 10,000 times since 2009. Also, during the summer of 2011, he was invited to join Critical Beatdown, a collective of DJs, crowd movers, and taste makers with members all throughout the United States. As of recent, Pulse Magazine, a publication based in central Florida, named him club DJ of the Year for 2012! And finally in May of 2012, Ku was invited to compete in the infamous Red Bull Thre3style (Southeast Regionals in Charlotte, NC) and came home the champ!
Amongst all the same old DJ's there only stands a few who really stick out and leave a mark. One of those being Florida's own DJ KU. With his feet firmly planted in the roots of true school DJing and turntablism, he without a doubt brings a refreshing sound to the new school ways. In a rapidly growing digital age, KU has managed to evolve, yet stay true to the ways of what a DJ should really be. His music selection, flawless mixing techniques, turntablism, and stage presence are on a level of their own. Whether it's hip hop, rock, reggae, funk, house, or anywhere in between, he always manages to keep the dancefloor alive and full of energy.

Guest DJ Morsecode - July 30
"DJ
Morse Code's versatility, skill, and experience speaks for itself. Born
and raised in San Francisco, Nathaniel Morse offers his own unique
eclectic style combining his early influences from the Bay with his new
home, Los Angeles. After moving to Southern California in 2007 he has
cemented himself in the local scene both in the glitzy clubs of
Hollywood and the musically sophisticated parties on the East side and
Downtown. His noteworthy style brought him to DJ AM's attention in 2005,
who later signed Morse onto the infamous Deckstar starting roster. In
2010, he won Redbull's first United States "3style" DJ battle in LA, and
is appearing this year as a featured guest and judge, establishing that
he is both cutting edge and grounded in the roots of DJ culture. "

Guest DJ Panamami - July 9
More Fire Mondays welcomes the utterly amazing and truly rhythm rooted DJ Panamami to the Reggae Rooftop this Monday July 9th.
"Hip-hop, calypso, salsa underscored Panamami’s upbringing as a West Indian Panamanian growing up in Echo Park, Los Angeles. She absorbed the High Life, Hip Life and Arab-influenced music popular in Ghana and Niger during her year-long stay in Africa, just as she did the local sounds of Baltimore, Washington D.C. and the Bay Area, three other cities she has called home. Panamami’s sets are eclectic and informed; from Brazilian beats to dancehall, cumbia , hip hop and more, anything goes when she hits the turntables. Panamami has successfully rocked diverse crowds all over the US by seamlessly moving between genres, handpicking both classic and contemporary songs to keep partygoers on their toes.
Panamami is co-founder of Bodega, a seasonal world music party and one of the fastest-growing dance event in Los Angeles, where she has rocked alongside a slew of famed guest Djs, such as Quantic and Rich Medina. She has graced venues like Kress Nightclub and Zanzibar in Southern California, the Elbo Room in San Francisco, Bardot in Miami and DROM and Bembe in New York City. One of her mixtapes was recently featured on Jay Z’s popular blog, Life and Times and Parlour Magazine. She has also been heard over the airwaves on Dj Chilly’s radio show El Sonido on Seattle’s 90.3 FM as well as over internet radio as a disk jockey and personality on Bodega Community Radio in 2011. She is also one of the few American DJs who have had the pleasure of spinning for crowds in the Hongdae district of South Korea. With Panamami’s broad taste in music and sharp turntable skills, it is of no surprise that she continues her reign as one of the most sought-after dj’s in both LA and beyond."

Guest DJ Sean G - July 2
DJ Sean G fell in love with Dj’ing in 1999 when a friend got some new turntables and gave him his old ones. He challenged himself through hard work and dedication and digging through crates of records to become a LA DJ with a unique and universal sound. He started his professional career rockin’ all over so cal, making a name as one of the hottest club DJ’s while gaining command of his sound and scratching technique. In 2007 he linked with the LA based hip hop group Pac Div and toured all over the world until 2011 expanding his cultural outlook and repertoire and adding to his stage presence. In this exciting year of 2012, he is working with world renowned drummer Tony Royster Jr. doing high profile venues and events. Although well-seasoned and highly sought after for major events, DJ Sean G remains humble yet still has a passion for rocking the most respected local popular spots. His love for music is obvious in his selections and skill. There is an authenticity that comes through loud and clear in his music that makes him a premier talent in the music world.
